As a law student, I need to type quickly and for long periods. I'm curious if there's a practical difference between the keyboards on 14-inch and 16-inch laptops. Is one size better in terms of comfort and usability? Should I prefer one over the other? Thanks for any insights!

Honestly, laptop keyboards can sometimes feel cramped over long periods. Even on my big 18-inch gaming laptop, the keyboard isn't the best for extended typing since the touchpad makes it hard to get comfortable. If you don’t need to be super portable, I'd suggest using an external keyboard and mouse instead. From what I’ve seen, a 14-inch and 16-inch in your price range will likely have similar compact keyboards without a numpad. Best to try them out in-store if you can!

Just a heads up, a 14-foot keyboard is a bit exaggerated! You're right to point out that 14 inches and 14 feet are totally different. Stick with the laptop options, and you'll be fine!

Haha, exactly! I won’t say much more, just imagine the chaos of a keyboard that size!

Both sizes typically use a similar layout, so the comfort and typing experience often depend more on the laptop's specific model than just the size. The main difference is usually whether the 16-inch includes a numpad, which might save you some space with the 14-inch. It might be worth testing them both to see which feels better in your hands!

There’s really no major difference in keyboard size between 14-inch and 16-inch laptops. Essentially, the keyboards should be similar in design, although a larger model might include a numeric keypad since it has more space. If you're going for long typing sessions, you might want to consider getting an external keyboard for better comfort.
