Choosing Between Two Lenovo Laptops: Is the New Processor Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to decide between two Lenovo laptops. One has the Intel 7i Evo series 1 155h (Lenovo Yoga 9i) and the other features the series 2 256v (Lenovo Yoga 7i Slim Aura Edition). The first one comes with an OLED screen that looks stunning, plus it has great speakers. But I'm torn about whether the newer processor in the series 2 is actually worth it. Also, I've heard about potential burn-in issues with OLED displays—does that still happen? The series 2 is actually $150 cheaper but lacks the OLED. Given that I use the laptop for browsing, light photo editing, multimedia, and playing games on GFN, plus I plan to connect a OneXGPU, which model would benefit me more? Thanks for any insights!

I'd recommend going for the Lenovo with the OLED screen if performance is a top priority. The second-gen processor actually has half the core count of the first-gen, so the first one might give you more power for your tasks.

Why would they cut the core count like that? I'm really leaning towards the OLED for the visuals, but I've heard concerns about the first series having issues. Is burn-in still a problem with OLED screens?

Yeah, but the second gen laptop doesn't even have the OLED screen, which is a significant downside.

I found some links to the models you’re considering. Here’s the Yoga 9i: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6571371.p?skuId=6571371 and the Yoga 7i Slim: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6594998.p?skuId=6594998. Just a heads-up, I’d check if you’re buying open box to see if it's worth it.
