I'm looking for backup software for two Windows 10 computers (and soon Windows 11) to back up to my Buffalo Link Station LS210D NAS. I've seen a lot of recommendations for Veeam, but it's all a bit confusing. Do I need to install the Veeam Backup & Replication Community Edition on both computers, or is the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows Free the right choice? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding the recovery ISO, it's best to create one for each computer. Each machine has a different hardware profile, so while two identical models might share an ISO, it's safer to do one for each for future restorations.
You only need to install the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows on each computer you want to back up. There's no need for the full Community Edition for this setup.
You don't really need the Community Edition. Just make sure your Buffalo NAS has a password-protected share for backup storage. Install the Veeam Agent for Windows (the free version) on each device and point it to your NAS share using the right credentials. Also, during installation, it will ask you to create a recovery ISO, which is important for restoring your system later. Use Rufus to put this ISO on a USB for easy recovery.

Thank you, that's very helpful!
