Experiencing Poor Performance on My New PC While Gaming

I recently received my prebuilt gaming PC (please don't judge me, I had my reasons), and I couldn't wait to try out Hollow Knight: Silksong. However, to my surprise, the game runs really poorly, which is puzzling because my specs should handle it easily. I've installed all the necessary drivers and checked various settings, but something seems off. Could someone help identify what the issue might be? Here are my specs: RX 9060 XT with 16 GB VRAM, Ryzen 5 7500F at 5.00 GHz, TUF Gaming B-850-plus Wifi AM5 motherboard, Deepcool PN750M 750W power supply, a couple of 120mm cooling fans, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000MHz. What else should I check to improve performance?

Have you checked if your monitor is plugged into the GPU instead of the motherboard? Sometimes that small mistake can lead to performance issues. Just a thought!

Nope, I'm plugged into the GPU! That's not the issue.

What resolution are you playing at, and what FPS are you getting? It can also help to know what your 1% low FPS is. If there’s anything hogging CPU resources in the background, that could definitely impact gameplay, especially on a fresh install with updates running.

I've checked and background CPU usage seems fine. I'll look deeper into the FPS.

Make sure to monitor your CPU and GPU usage while playing. Also, keep an eye on the temperatures to ensure there’s no throttling happening. Sometimes new PCs run multiple updates in the background, which could affect performance.

It’s great that you provided your specs — that’s really helpful! Are you experiencing issues solely with Silksong? I would recommend benchmarking your PC against other similar setups to see if it’s underperforming. That might give you a clearer picture.

I shared my specs in the edit. It does seem like Silksong is the main issue.
