Has anyone here explored the differences between using the Claude Code Max plan and using Cursor with Max mode enabled (while using a Claude model)? If cost were no issue, which option would provide the best overall experience? Is performance generally the same for both, or does it really come down to your monthly usage to make one option more justifiable than the other?

I'm not sure how Cursor can even function with Claude considering how expensive it is—$5 per prompt is a lot! If I’m using it heavily, I could easily rack up $8-10 in just one day. Even with discounts, unless they reduce the model's quality, it seems like they'd be losing money.
From my experience, the Claude Code Max plan is way better. I've tried Cursor, but I found it could be pretty buggy with the newer models, and honestly, I’m really satisfied with the performance of Claude Code. It feels more reliable for my needs.
I just made the shift to Claude Code Max and it’s been awesome! You get to access the model in its most raw format, and it runs smoothly. Plus, if you reach your credit limit, you can still use the Claude desktop app to connect to your project and keep working without interruption.
