Hey everyone! I need some help figuring out a problem with my computer. A few years back, my partner and I had our setup stolen during a move, but luckily we had insurance. Since we replaced everything, we've been having some really bizarre crashes. The PC keeps shutting down randomly, anywhere from every couple of minutes to going days without issues. It's frustrating because it typically only crashes when I'm not doing anything intensive, like watching Netflix or just having a single Chrome tab open. It even crashed while I was writing this post!
We upgraded the cooling and case because it was running kinda hot before, and while the temperature is good now, the crashes continue. Sometimes, it will even shut down before I log in. My partner thinks it might be our apartment's wiring since the breakers flip often, but that's not something we faced before. We did try switching circuits with no luck.
My dad, who's been in live sound for years, suggested it might be a PSU issue—maybe some faulty soldering or something. Our PSU is out of warranty, and I'm considering replacing it. I just want to know if anyone has experienced something similar or has any ideas on what might be going on. Thanks a lot! Here are my specs if you need them: 750W Ultra Dura PSU, Intel i7 12700, Tuf Gaming H-670 Pro, GeForce RTX 3070, Pop Air case (upgrade), MAG Coreliquid A13 240. I'm still learning about this stuff, so any thoughts would be appreciated!

Have you checked your power settings? It's worth looking into, and you can access these through BIOS. If it turns out the PSU is the issue and you can swing it, consider picking one up from a local store like Best Buy—they often have good return policies if you need it. Just make sure to keep the box in good shape!
When it crashes, does your screen go blue with an error code, or does it just shut down and reboot into recovery? If you get a BSOD, that could give us some specific clues. You can also try booting into safe mode and check the Windows Event Viewer for any critical logs around the shutdown times; that might reveal some error codes or messages.
It mostly just shuts down and goes straight back to the Windows login. When it does crash hard, it jumps right into recovery mode.
You can also find power settings right from the desktop! If you're using Windows 11, just look for that little battery icon in the taskbar—super easy to adjust from there. Might help stabilize things a bit.
Good point! I’ll check the power settings in BIOS. I usually go to Memory Express since I’m in Canada; they've treated me well there.
