I'm new to building PCs and I'm trying to figure out the front panel connectors on my B850 motherboard. My connectors seem to have male ends, but I'm not sure how they should connect to JFP1 and JFP2 since they also have male pins. I've looked through the B850 manual but it shows female connections. Am I missing something? Do I need an adapter for this? Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're dealing with a common mix-up! Usually, the front panel connectors from your case do have male ends, which are intended to connect to the motherboard's female headers. If they’re both male, you might need a female-to-female adapter to bridge the connection. It could also be worth checking if there’s been a shipping error, but I'd say it's more likely you just need the right adapter. Let us know if you need help finding one!
Just to add on: it’s super helpful to double-check the connector arrangement as well. They usually come labeled, so verifying that could save you some hassle. If they're supposed to fit and don’t, then it’s definitely worth looking into getting an adapter!
Yeah, the front panel connectors typically should connect directly to the motherboard's headers. If both ends are male, it's definitely a puzzle! I recommend taking a good look at your motherboard manual again; sometimes the headers aren't labeled as clearly as we’d like. If you're still stuck, posting a picture can help others spot the issue.
