Considering a CPU Upgrade for Better Gaming Performance?

I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my CPU. Currently, I have a Ryzen 7 2700x paired with a Radeon RX 6750XT, and I've noticed a drop in frame rates and overall gaming performance. I suspect my CPU might be bottlenecking my system, but I'm not entirely sure. I want to know if upgrading my CPU is the right move or if I should address something else first. If upgrading is the way to go, which CPU would be a solid upgrade for my setup to work well with my graphics card?

If budget allows, think about moving to the AM5 platform. Future AMD CPUs from the Zen6 generation will be compatible with AM5, making upgrades easier for years to come. Keep in mind though, that switching to AM5 will require a new motherboard.

Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date since the 6750XT is newer than your CPU. Try reducing your graphics settings to see if performance improves; if not, your CPU might be the limiting factor. The Ryzen 5600X would be a great value upgrade either way, so I’d recommend going for it regardless of any other issues.

Before jumping into an upgrade, check your GPU utilization while gaming. If it's significantly below 100%, you might indeed be CPU bottlenecked. For a solid upgrade, consider the Ryzen 5600X, 5700X, or 5800X(T) as they would work well with your RX 6750XT.
