I have an HP Pavilion Series 15 laptop that suddenly shut down a few months ago and got stuck on the HP loading screen. After contacting support and doing some research, I realized it needed a battery replacement. I replaced the battery today, but the laptop is still stuck on the HP logo, indicating that it's beginning system repairs. I've tried System Recovery, BIOS Setup, and System Reset, but I always end up with a grey screen. I'm feeling pretty frustrated because I just spent 30 bucks on the replacement without results. I'd really appreciate any help!

It’s unlikely that a bad battery would cause the symptoms you're experiencing, and a new battery might not resolve the underlying problem. It sounds like you might just need to wipe your hard drive and perform a fresh installation of Windows. If that doesn’t fix it, then your hard drive or another component could be failing.
It sounds like you're dealing with a tricky issue! Diagnosing PC problems remotely can be challenging, but it's important to rule out software problems first. I recommend doing a clean install of the operating system from a USB drive, and delete all partitions on the system drive during the installation. If you run into issues during the setup, it might indicate a hardware failure, and then definitely consider taking it to a repair shop.

Thanks for the tip! I got a message saying CMOS Error (502) after the new battery was installed. Any idea what that might indicate?
