Hey everyone, I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU from an i5 12400F to an i7 14700KF and would love your opinions on it. I've got a Fera 5 cooler and I've heard mixed things — some say it's fine, while others warn that the i7 runs pretty hot and might need undervolting. Here are my current specs: B660 motherboard, RTX 3070 graphics card, 32 GB of RAM, 750W power supply, and I'm using an Endorfy Signum 300ARGB case. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You're definitely going to want a better cooler for the i7. A single tower cooler like the Fera 5 won't cut it. Check out the Thermalright Phantom Spirit; it’s budget-friendly and performs really well.
What exactly are you using this upgrade for? If it's mainly for gaming, the i5 might still be fine, and the Fera 5 could just barely manage, though temps will be high. If you're into multi-threaded workloads, then you really need to upgrade that cooler to something like the Phantom Spirit 120 or even a good AIO solution.
Honestly, the Fera 5 isn't enough for the i7. You should look into getting a dual tower cooler or even a 360 AIO if you want to keep those temps down.
The 14700KF has a TDP of 250 watts, and the Fera 5 is just too small to let it perform at its best. You'll want at least the Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE. A 360mm AIO would be ideal. Also, investing in an LGA1700 contact frame can help lower temps a bit. Just a heads up, make sure your B660 board has good VRM quality for handling that power!
