I just bought a new gaming laptop and I'm excited to make the switch to Linux. I'm currently playing games like Valorant and Wuthering Waves, and I also use Blender and VSCode from time to time. I'm looking for recommendations on which Linux distribution to choose, especially for gaming, and any tips on how to learn Linux effectively, like good tutorials or resources.

Unfortunately, Valorant doesn’t work on Linux because of its kernel-level anti-cheat system. If gaming is important to you, I'd suggest sticking with Windows for now. If you’re just starting out with Linux for other uses, Linux Mint Cinnamon is user-friendly and a solid choice for beginners.
Check out the distro selection page on the Linux wiki for some great options! I’d recommend Linux Mint or Fedora; Mint is great for general use, and Fedora has better support for multi-monitor setups. Just a heads up, you might want to consider dual-booting if playing Valorant is a dealbreaker since its anti-cheat won't work on Linux.

How do I set up a dual boot?
