Constant BSOD Issues: What Should I Do About DIMM Slot 1?

I got this PC back in 2020, and while it crashed occasionally, I didn't do much since I just wanted a working computer. Fast forward to May this year, I upgraded it and handed it over to my girlfriend. It was working fine for about a month, but now it's constantly blue screening (BSOD). I ran a diagnostic test, and it indicated that DIMM slot 1 failed the 'memory fast check'. I purchased new RAM thinking that was the problem, but then I found out I should swap the RAM between D1 and D3 slots. Unfortunately, DIMM slot 1 still fails the memory fast check. I'm confused—does this mean DIMM slot 3 is fine, or did it not even check that one? Is there anything that could cause only slot 1 to fail? I really don't want to have to buy a new motherboard and deal with all the installation hassle just for a faulty DIMM slot.

First off, let's get some crash dump files for better insight into the BSODs. If you can boot into Windows normally or via Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any dump files. If you find them, copy the folder to your desktop, zip it, and upload it to a file sharing site like catbox.moe or mediafire.com. Having multiple dump files is super helpful, so if you only see one or none, follow a guide to set it up for 'Small Memory Dump' to capture more data.

Sounds like your PC is not a fan of the new ownership! 😅 Can you share the model of your motherboard and the RAM? Sometimes compatibility issues can lead to failing slots. Also, if you haven’t already, try swapping the RAM around to see if it’s just slot 1 that's the problem or if it’s a bigger issue with the motherboard.
