Controller Not Responding After Moving—Need Help!

I recently moved to a new place and, while I'm waiting for my internet to be set up, I wanted to unwind with some gaming. However, I've run into a big issue: my controller (a Switch rematch wireless) is recognized by my PC, but it won't detect any button presses or joystick movements anymore.

When I check the 'Game Controllers' properties, I see the usual button layout but nothing happens when I try to use it. I've already tried several troubleshooting steps, including unplugging and reconnecting the device, switching USB ports and cables, resetting the 'Game Controllers' settings, removing the device in Bluetooth settings, uninstalling it from Device Manager, and even restarting my PC multiple times.

At one point, I noticed that the 'Game Controllers' properties window showed a different device name (Chroma Orbweaver), showing only one button available and with no calibration option. When I unplug the Orbweaver, the controller properties show the full button layout again, but I still can't get any input recognized from the controller. What can I do next?

Have you tried seeing if the controller was configured through Steam? If that's the case, starting Steam in Offline Mode might help your controller function normally again. Just a thought!

Unfortunately, the issue persists even in Offline Mode, and Steam isn't detecting any inputs from the controller anymore. It did recognize it briefly, but now it’s like it disappeared.

Since you're using a wired connection, does plugging the controller directly into the PC work? Sometimes a direct USB connection bypasses those Bluetooth issues.

It’s only wired since my PC doesn’t have Bluetooth. Unfortunately, it's still not working even when connected via USB.
