Corsair 400D vs. 4000D Airflow: Which One Should I Choose?

Hey everyone! I recently shared my PC build on PCPartPicker, which features the Corsair 4000D Airflow case. But then I found out that the newer Frame 4000D has been released. I'm curious to know which one is better overall. Also, I noticed that the Frame 4000D can support up to 9 fans. Can I connect all of them to my motherboard, or how does that work? How many fans would you recommend actually using? Appreciate your help!

I just built my rig using the Frame 4000D a few weeks back, and I have to say, it's an absolute joy to put together. From what I've seen, it potentially offers better thermals compared to the Airflow version, especially since you can add fans underneath the GPU for extra cooling.

As for fans, the three that come included can be daisy-chained, which means you can connect them to a single fan header on your motherboard. The total number of fans you can add will depend on how many fan headers your mobo has, and daisy chaining is an option for additional fans as well. If you need more headers than your motherboard provides, consider getting a fan controller.

For my setup, I went for 6 fans: three 120mm intakes in the front, one 120mm intake at the bottom aimed at the GPU, plus a 140mm exhaust in the rear and another 140mm exhaust at the top. This configuration helps keep positive pressure to minimize dust buildup and ensure good thermals. Keep in mind that using an air cooler or an AIO radiator will affect your fan layout.

Thanks for the insight! Did you daisy chain the two 140mm fans together, or did you connect them individually to the motherboard along with the last 120mm fan? Also, any recommendations for additional fans you’ve tried?
