I recently replaced my old power supply with a new MSI MAG A650GL 650W (80 Gold) and used all new cables. After this switch, I've been unable to boot into Arch Linux, despite it appearing in the boot menu. I checked the BIOS, and both my SSD with Windows and my HDD with Arch are recognized, but I can only boot into Windows. I've attempted to reinstall GRUB, but I've been getting "ATA" errors which point to possible issues with my hard drive. After trying to fix Arch, it seems Windows also failed to boot, though I'm not sure if that's related to the hard drive issues or the SSD. I'm considering options like getting a new SSD or motherboard for NVMe support. Any advice on what to do next? Could a new SSD be damaged too?

It sounds like your motherboard might have had a rough time with the new PSU install. Sometimes when you switch power supplies, older motherboards can struggle if there are compatibility issues or if they are fragile. If you haven’t already, try disconnecting and reconnecting the SATA power and data cables to see if that helps with the HDD errors.
I'd be cautious about buying a new SSD without figuring out what's wrong. It could very well be related to the motherboard or the power supply. If you plan to upgrade to a modern motherboard and NVMe SSD, that might solve multiple issues. Just make sure everything is compatible before investing in new hardware!
Definitely check compatibility first! Might save you from more headaches down the line.

Yeah, a good hardware reset can help sometimes, but it sounds like there may be deeper issues at play here.
