Could Bumping My PC with My Knee Have Damaged My GPU?

I bumped my PC with my knee about half an hour ago, but it didn't freeze or restart. I manually rebooted it and noticed some static noise on the screen during the Windows loading screen for just a moment. Steam also showed the same static noise when I opened it. However, my games run fine and benchmark results are as expected. I reseated my GPU, which was surprisingly tough to remove but easy to install, and I checked the GPU pinsโthey seem okay. Given the strong bump, what are the chances my GPU is damaged? Thanks for your help!

Unless you really hit it hard, your GPU should be fine. Just do a quick visual check on all connections and ensure nothing's seated loosely.

The static noise might be a coincidence, but if you're still worried, it's a good idea to check everything again, especially RAM seating and power connections.

You're probably in the clear! Don't stress too much about it. I've bumped my PC countless times, and itโs still running strong. If everything is functioning normally, then chances are you didn't cause any damage.

Consider checking your monitor cable; it might have gotten loose when you bumped it. That could also explain the static noise you saw.

The likelihood of actual damage is pretty low. PCs are sturdier than they seem. A connection may have loosened, so it's smart that you reseated your GPU. Just double-check other connections to make sure everything's snug. If it works, it works, and troubleshoot if any specific issues come up later.
