Hi everyone, I recently opened my laptop and looked away for just a moment to check my phone. When I looked back, I saw the cursor moving on its own! At first, I thought it was just the touchpad acting up, which has happened before. But then it moved to the URL bar in Chrome and opened Microsoft Edge by itself. I panicked and immediately disconnected from the internet, but now I'm worried about reconnecting and whether I'm safe. Has anyone experienced something like this? I'm running Windows 11 on a ThinkPad T480.

Has anyone heard of Seraph Secure? I saw Kitboga promoting it as a tool to detect remote connections. Might be worth looking into if you're worried!
I went through something similar when someone installed remote software on my PC. They can exploit vulnerabilities to access your system. I realized it was happening when I noticed the software running in the background, so I got rid of it with process lasso. It's worth checking to see if anything unusual is active on your device.
Dealing with RATs can be tricky and risky. They often hide in Task Scheduler or look like legitimate processes. Honestly, the safest choice might be to wipe the system and do a fresh install of Windows, but make sure to secure your accounts first from a different device.
Definitely change your passwords, especially for sensitive accounts like online banking. Better safe than sorry! Just make sure you do it from a secure device.
It sounds like you might have a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) on your hands. They're surprisingly easy to download without realizing it. I recommend running Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro for a thorough scan. Also, check your %appdata% folder and look for anything suspicious in your documents. Don't forget to check the Task Manager for any weird processes too!
Yeah, definitely check for anything odd in Task Manager. It can be pretty sneaky.

Good advice! Don't forget to change your passwords on all accounts too.
