I'm trying to figure out which Linux distribution is better suited for my needs—mainly for work tasks and a bit of gaming on the side. I'm considering either Debian or Ubuntu, but I'm open to other options if they suit my setup better. Here are my PC specs: I have a 27'' Philips quad-HD (2k) monitor with 180Hz, an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads, an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU with 16 GB of GDDR6, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM from Kingston, and a 1 TB M.2 SSD (WD Blue SN770). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, it really comes down to personal preference! Both distros use the apt package manager, so that's a plus. If you enjoy using snaps, go with Ubuntu. But if you're after something a bit lighter with X11, Debian might be the way to go. Just pick the one that feels right for you!
Your hardware is pretty solid, so both Debian and Ubuntu should run well on your system. I'd suggest starting with Linux Mint since it's user-friendly, especially for newbies. However, if you're feeling adventurous, you could try either Debian or Ubuntu without much hassle. On a side note, if you want to explore more, keep an eye on Fedora in the future!
I'm a total noob, but I've heard Wayland is better for newer hardware. Does that really matter when choosing a distro?
