Did a power outage damage my mouse?

So, I was playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 when a power outage hit. I went to sleep while the power was off. After a few hours, the power came back, and when I turned on my ASUS TUF FX506LI PC, everything worked fine except for my G502 mouse. I even tried it on another PC, but it only shows up as an unknown device in Windows, even though it's recognized as connected. It's strange since my G923 racing wheel, which was also plugged in, is working perfectly fine. Is it possible that the power outage damaged my mouse? Any ideas on what happened and how I might fix this? Thanks!

Yes, it’s totally possible that the power outage caused a spike that fried your mouse. Peripherals can be pretty sensitive to sudden changes in power. Unfortunately, it seems your mouse might be done for. To prevent this from happening in the future, consider getting an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with automatic voltage regulation (AVR). That could protect your devices from similar issues later on!

Definitely check if you have surge protectors in place. Surges can cause weird problems with hardware. For your next setup, make sure your PSU is grounded well and consider using plug strips with surge protection to avoid this in the future.

Aww, I hope you can get it fixed! Sometimes peripherals just don't survive these things. If it’s not working at all, it might be time to look for a new one.
