Hey everyone! I'm really worried I might have damaged my motherboard or CPU. I discovered that the overheating issue I had was due to a lack of thermal paste and my heatsink not fitting properly with my CPU. When I tried to remove the heatsink, the CPU got stuck to it, and I can't tell if there are any bent pins. The locking mechanism on my motherboard is also not working now. I'd appreciate any advice on whether I'm out of luck or if there's still hope! For reference, I'm using a B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard with a Ryzen 3 3200G CPU.

It sounds like you might be in a tough spot. Usually, we’d need to see pictures to figure out if there are bent pins. Did you manage to detach the CPU successfully from the cooler? If you put it back but nothing happens when you boot, it could be a sign of a more serious issue. I’d recommend leaving it overnight to see if it responds, but I’m worried it could be broken.
I think you might need to check for bent pins. If the locking mechanism isn't functioning, that’s a concern too. Could you get a picture of the socket?
