Did I Get Scammed on My AliExpress CPU Purchase?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a Ryzen 7 5700X processor off AliExpress from a seller who seemed reliable. I had it shipped to a friend in Spain since I'm traveling there soon. However, when I got a picture of the item today, I noticed it doesn't have the orange band that many review photos display. I won't be able to test it until I return in about a month and a half. So, I'm wondering if I've been scammed or if I should ask for a refund?

AliExpress sometimes sells used or tray CPUs, which is why they're cheaper than at regular stores. Just test it to see how it performs—it should work just fine!

What's a tray CPU? Will it perform the same as a regular one?

You can’t be sure until you test it, but I've had a similar experience with my 5700X3D from AliExpress, and it was totally fine. That orange sticker is likely just a reseller's choice, and it's possible your CPU just came in a tray without all the fancy packaging. Don't worry too much yet!

Yeah, I was hoping it was something like that!

It’s probably legit! AliExpress has a lot of sold units, so with a close look, you can usually tell. Check the font and text placement on your CPU against trusted images. If everything matches, just install it and see how it performs!

Okay, thanks a lot!
