Did I make the right choice by going with the 5600X instead of the X3D for my setup?

I'm currently using an AM4 socket and want to make sure I get the best performance without going overboard on costs. My current specs include a Ryzen 5 3600X, which is definitely struggling to keep up with my RX 9070 XT GPU, especially in CPU-heavy games and lower resolutions. I've got 32 GB of RAM that's well-optimized for overclocking, which has been helpful. I considered upgrading to an X3D chip, but the prices around me are absurd—like 500€ for the 5700X3D! So, I settled on a Ryzen 5 5600X for 120€, thinking it was a good value for my needs. I understand that with my optimized RAM, I might alleviate some CPU bottlenecking, but I'm not sure if this is the best choice or if I'm missing anything important.

Absolutely, you made the right call! Just make sure you're gaming at 1440p, and you should see a nice boost.

The X3D chips do excel in gaming scenarios, particularly for minimum frame rates, but honestly, you're fine with the 5600X. If budget allows, you could consider the 5700X3D or the 5800X, but don't stress it too much!

You should definitely notice a significant improvement. Most games at 1440p or higher aren’t bottlenecked by CPU, especially if you crank up the visual settings, with a few exceptions, of course.

Yeah, the 5600X is a solid choice—you're looking at about a 15-20% performance increase in gaming compared to the 3600X. While an 8-core like the 5700X or 5800X could have been better, your decision isn't bad at all!

I would have gone for a 3900X or 5800X myself, but the 5600X will do well with your GPU—just keep in mind that it's best paired with something like a 4060 Ti or similar max GPU.

Actually, the 5600X can outperform the 3900X in gaming unless you're hitting a core bottleneck—so you're alright!

Also, the performance difference between the 5800X and the 5600X in gaming isn't massive, so your choice was likely a good one!
