Did I Put My Google Drive at Risk by Taking My PC to a Repair Shop?

I'm feeling pretty anxious right now and need some advice. I recently took my PC to a local repair shop and thought I had secured my Google Drive by removing access to my device beforehand. I even logged into my account using another computer to ensure everything was cut off. But when I got my PC back, I was horrified to see that I was still logged into my Google account and my Drive, which contains some very sensitive work files. I can't find any way to check if my files were accessed or downloaded. Should I be worried about this? Is there any hope that the repair guy is ethical and won't leak my documents? I really don't want to feel more shame about my mistake, but I can't shake this anxiety about risking my career because of misunderstandings with Google security settings. This experience has definitely made me rethink using Drive for work!

Most repair shops are pretty focused on fixing devices and won't care much about your files. You might have dodged a bullet this time. Just treat this as a learning experience for the future, double-check your settings next time!

Totally agree! They probably won't be interested in your files at all.

Honestly, if your files are that sensitive, they really shouldn't be stored in Google Drive in the first place. I’d be more worried about Google’s access to them than the repair guy’s intentions.

If I were in your shoes, I’d try to befriend the repair guy. Building a bit of rapport might make him less likely to leak anything if he thinks twice about crossing you. Maybe bring him a small treat?

What about baking him a cake? Could sweeten the deal!
