Do I Need a New PSU for My RTX 5070 Ti?

I'm upgrading my PC by swapping out my RTX 2070 Super for an RTX 5070 Ti, specifically the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 Ti EAGLE OC SFF 16G, which I already ordered. The PC was built in late 2021 and has a Corsair RM850x power supply from 2018 with a 10-year warranty, so it's fairly recent. However, I'm wondering if I should still use this PSU considering its age.

If I can keep the PSU: The RTX 5070 Ti comes with an adapter for connecting the 12+4 pin to two 8-pin PCIe cables. My current PCIe cables are not ideal as they have a daisy-chain setup at the GPU end, and I'd prefer to buy two new separate cables instead. Corsair has different cable types (like type 4 or type 5), and I'm unsure which to get for compatibility.

If the PSU isn't suitable anymore: Should I opt for a new PSU with a native 12+4 pin connector to avoid using an adapter, or is using the included adapter recommended?

Your current PSU should be good to go. Just grab a Type 4 cable from Corsair; they offer a 12V-2x6 cable which will connect directly from the PSU to the GPU without any fuss. That should work perfectly fine!

Is that really safe? I’ve seen some GPU makers recommend using the included adapter. What if something goes wrong and they check that? Would it affect the warranty?
