I'm considering a factory reset of my PC through the Settings menu (Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC) and I'm wondering whether I need to have a Windows 10 CD-Key ready for that. Can anyone clarify if it's necessary?

Actually, I recommend skipping the built-in factory reset for a fresh install instead. I’ve heard it can cause issues sometimes. Just do a clean install of Windows if you can!
