I'm using the MSI MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI motherboard along with G SKILL TRIDENT Z5 RGB DDR5 RAM. I was wondering if these can save their RGB settings directly on the board without needing software. Do I require Mystic Light to keep this running?

In some cases, if you get a fan hub with its own controller, you won’t need Mystic Light. Those hubs let you control the RGB without software, so it's a handy alternative if you want to avoid needing the program.
Yeah, you'll need Mystic Light installed to set up your RGB effects. If you plan to change colors or modes, keeping the software running is essential for those changes to apply.
Do I really have to keep it running all the time? Can I just uninstall it after setting everything up?
Oh, so the hubs have physical buttons to change colors manually? That's pretty cool!
