I'm upgrading my motherboard and I have a quick question. I'll be getting a new motherboard tomorrow and I know I need to format my Windows OS drive (the SSD), but do I also need to format my HDD where I store movies and other files? Just to clarify, I have an SSD for Windows and an HDD for storage. Should I format both drives or just the SSD?

You only need to format the OS drive. When you do a clean install of Windows, make sure to connect only the SSD. After that, you can hook up the HDD again and it should be fine.
You actually don't *need* to format either drive! Just focus on the SSD for the Windows install.
You don't need to format your HDD. Only format it if you're okay with losing the data stored there. By the way, check if it's BitLocker encrypted—make sure to have the recovery keys handy!
