Do I Need to Learn React to Get a Development Job?

I'm feeling a bit lost in my job search for development positions, especially concerning React. I've been working mostly as a freelancer and haven't encountered a need for React or any major frameworks until now. I'm knowledgeable in several programming languages and tech stacks, such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and even some Python and PHP, but I've never dealt with React. Given my situation, I've been hunting for remote dev jobs since I'm tired of my current tech job that pays minimum wage and offers no long-term prospects. However, it seems like most companies are looking for senior developers or, at least, candidates with React experience. It's frustrating because I feel like I have the skills to succeed yet can't find suitable positions or feel confident enough even applying. So, do I need to learn React, or are there still opportunities for someone with my skill set?

Honestly, just dive in and learn React! It's not as hard as it sounds, especially since you've got a solid foundation in other technologies. People often say you can pick it up over a weekend if you know your way around web development. Plus, the term 'senior' can mean different things to different employers, so don’t count yourself out too easily.

I get where you’re coming from! That confidence can be tricky, but you might find positions that don’t list React specifically. Why not apply anyway? You can always learn on the job!
