Do I Need to Upgrade My Power Supply for a New Motherboard?

I'm currently using a prebuilt system with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12GB) and an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, and it has a 650 Watt power supply. The problem is that it's equipped with a mini motherboard that lacks Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. I'm planning to buy a new motherboard, specifically the ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II for AMD AM4. My question is, will I need to upgrade my power supply, or will my current one be sufficient?

Before proceeding, verify the current motherboard model to see if it's a standard size; some prebuilt systems use custom boards that may not fit a regular one. Also, check your PSU, as some use proprietary connectors that won't work with standard motherboards. If you share your exact prebuilt model, we might be able to assist further!

You should be good to go! Just make sure that the new motherboard fits in your case without issues. The setup should be straightforward since the cables will likely align well with minimal changes needed.

Power draw shouldn't be an issue here, but it's wise to double-check that your current motherboard and power supply use standard ATX plugs. Some prebuilt systems have their own brand plugs that could cause compatibility problems.

Thanks for the tip! It's an STGAubron power supply that was given to me, and so far, I've had no issues with it. I’ll definitely check those plugs.
