I'm considering upgrading my GPU from a 1650 to a 7800 XT, but I came across some info suggesting that I need an AM5 motherboard for it. My current motherboard is the Gigabyte B760M DDR4. Do I actually need to replace my motherboard to make this upgrade? Could I use the 7800 XT with my existing setup?

You actually don’t need an AM5 motherboard for the 7800 XT. It’s possible there was some confusion with the 7800X3D CPU instead. Just make sure your power supply and the rest of your setup are compatible!
Yeah, I had a similar mix-up when researching it. But you’re good to go without an AM5!
