I'm switching to the Corsair Frame 4000D case, which allows for two 140mm fans in the front and two in the side panel. Currently, I have three 140mm fans at the front of my old case with no side fans. I'm curious if adding side fans will significantly impact my cooling and overall airflow.

I don't really see the need for side fans; the two front fans should provide more than enough airflow for most setups. You might not notice a huge difference with side fans, honestly.
Actually, the Corsair Frame 4000D is designed to work well with both front and side fans. It can help improve airflow, especially if your GPU is generating a lot of heat. Just keep in mind that the effectiveness will depend on your overall build and cooling needs.
