Does Dual Booting Improve Hardware Compatibility for Linux?

I'm dealing with some compatibility issues on my system since I started using Ubuntu 20.0. My main problems include a missing WiFi adapter and occasional freezing. I'm curious if setting up a dual boot with Windows might reduce these compatibility issues, or if it will still present the same challenges. Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're wondering if having both Windows and Linux installed would lessen the hardware issues you're facing, right? Unfortunately, I don't think that's the case. Each operating system runs independently, so Ubuntu won't utilize any drivers from Windows to fix those problems you mentioned.

A different Linux distribution might help! I recommend trying out Zorin, Mint, or Pop!_OS. Ubuntu isn’t always the best choice for hardware compatibility. Just make sure to share the exact model of your WiFi adapter and your Linux version for better advice.

You really shouldn't have compatibility issues just because of dual booting. Each OS should work separately unless there’s a specific hardware problem. But if it’s an older system, that could complicate things. I'd suggest checking your system specifications and ensuring the installation is set up correctly for dual booting.
