At one of our plants, some users are getting a "certificate expired" error when trying to connect to the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) server, while others, including myself, are not having any issues. Connecting via IP address works if we acknowledge the "not trusted" warning. Interestingly, there used to be an RDS gateway server that has been removed in favor of using VPNs and connecting directly to the RDS server. However, some users encountering this problem are still seeing references to the old gateway server. It seems like this might be a client-side issue rather than something on the server end. Is there a way to clear the old certificates from the connections and re-establish trust with the self-signed RDS certificate? We've checked the certificate manager but couldn't find anything that seemed like a solution.

To address this, you'll want to reconfigure the RDS collection not to use a gateway anymore. Afterward, make sure to download the new shortcuts from the RDWeb interface. This should help clear up the certificate issue.

That makes sense! I’ll see if we can get those changes made, but I'm not the main IT person at the site, so I’ll need to check with them.
