Experiencing Random Freezes on My New PC—Any Advice?

I recently put together a new PC setup, but I'm having some frustrating issues while using Windows 11. It randomly freezes and the screen goes black for about 1-3 seconds while the machine keeps running. After a short while, everything returns to normal. This happens every couple of minutes, and sometimes when the screen comes back, my desktop wallpaper turns black and the apps disappear until I hover over them. What steps can I take to fix this?

You should check which components are in your build first—knowing that can help troubleshoot. It's a good idea to monitor the temperatures and usage of your parts to figure out what might be causing the issue. Updating your BIOS and drivers can also make a big difference. Also, did you happen to overclock your RAM? That can sometimes lead to stability issues.

I have an ASUS Prime motherboard, a 5070 Ti, a 7800X3D CPU, and 32GB of 6000MHz RAM. I didn't overclock it, but I tried different XMP configurations. After turning them off, it still didn't solve the problem.

Yeah, sounds like you've got some nice hardware. Given that you've tried tweaking the XMP settings, maybe double-check the RAM compatibility or run a memory diagnostic to rule out bad sticks.
