Feeling Disconnected from Work and Wondering If It’s Time for a Change

Lately, I've been feeling quite disengaged from my job. Despite all the rapid advancements in AI and other technologies, I find myself less and less interested in my work. It just seems like a burden now rather than something enjoyable. As a platform engineer at a staff level, I'm questioning whether I should start looking for a new opportunity elsewhere. Is anyone else feeling this way, and would it be wise to make a move?

I think many of us are at a turning point. I’m on the lookout for a role where I can collaborate with a cross-functional team on more complex challenges. Unfortunately, the right positions seem hard to find. Anyone else feeling like they want to embark on something new without knowing the next step?

I can relate to the feeling of boredom and cynicism. It used to be exciting diving into new projects, but now it feels more like I’m just pushing through the grind. I even catch myself wanting to go off on LinkedIn and share my frustrations sometimes!

Honestly, I feel more satisfied cleaning my house than working in this environment! The pressure and constant need for speed and perfection in DevOps feels like it's turned the field into a monotonous factory rather than a creative space.

Same here! I actually enjoy tackling household chores more than my work these days.

You're definitely not alone in feeling this way. It seems like burnout is affecting a lot of us right now. I’m hoping that some time off will help refresh my mindset, but there's a real concern about the job market out there, especially if you’re already making a good salary and seeing no appealing options.

I took some time off too and still feel unmotivated. It's getting to the point where I'm starting to worry about it more.

I totally get that! I’m about to take a week off as well, hoping that helps rejuvenate my enthusiasm.
