Feeling Overwhelmed by GPU Choices for My New Gaming PC

I've been a console gamer for most of my life and have been using a Steam Deck for about a year now. While I really enjoy my Steam Deck, it's not powerful enough for everything I want to do. I'm considering building my first gaming PC, but I feel totally lost when it comes to GPUs. I'd love some advice on what graphics card I should get, especially since I'm looking to keep my total budget around $1200 CAD. Depending on the price range, I'm not sure what's considered a good deal and what I can realistically expect for that amount here in Canada. Any recommendations?

For a solid GPU within your budget, many people are grabbing used RTX 3080s. They're super fast and often come at a better price than the newer models like the 5060. In terms of price-to-performance, RTX 3080 should be a strong choice, but you might have to spend a significant portion of your budget. Just make sure to leave room for the other components because the GPU tends to be the most expensive part.

This could be a good option! Plus, if you check sites like PCPartPicker, you'll find the best deals for your region.
