Hi everyone! I'm super excited to finally build my very own gaming PC. I've been pouring over options and I've put together a possible build, but I could really use some advice. Here's what I'm working with:
- **Budget**: I'm aiming for around $1500, but I could stretch up to $1800 if needed.
- **Goals**: I want to game at 4K with high settings while maintaining a good frame rate. I also need decent multitasking abilities so I can stream at 1080p while using Discord during games.
- **Longevity**: It's important to me that this PC lasts several years without needing major upgrades.
- **Airflow**: My office can get pretty warm in the summer, so good airflow is key.
- **Aesthetics**: I'd love a setup that looks cool — I'm into white cases and RGB lighting, but I'm open to other color ideas too.
Are there any suggestions for improvements on my build? Or can you recommend cheaper alternatives for parts that won't compromise on quality? Thanks a bunch!

While it might not be the cheapest option, it’s often worth investing in a better setup if you can swing it. I kept your aesthetic in mind and suggested a build that increases quality without significantly upping the cost. But if you’re looking for something cheaper, check out my alternative at about $1600. It's still vibrant and colorful, plus it has a solid motherboard for future upgrades! Hope this helps!
Definitely, if you're multitasking while gaming, the 7800X3D would be a smarter choice!
You could put together a white 7600x/5070Ti PC and save over $200 by going for the 9070XT. Check this out for a potential build: [link].
Thanks! Would moving to the Ryzen 5 7600X impact my multitasking while gaming and streaming? Also, is the cost for the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti worth it?
If seamless streaming is a must, definitely look into getting an RTX 50 series card — maybe the 5070 Ti. It’s a bit above your budget, but if you're seeking 80fps on high-demand games, the 5080 could be what you need. Just keep in mind it’s a bit pricier.
Fair point! I might need to consider it, thanks!
I think you should consider swapping your CPU and GPU. The 7800X3D offers much better gaming performance and is roughly priced the same. Plus, the 7900XT is last-gen; the 9070XT is cheaper and performs better with FSR 4. Check out my suggested build that brings you in at about $1650 with better components!
Amazing, thank you! Your suggestions make a lot of sense!
Totally agree! That build is way better for hitting those 4K targets you’re after.
You might want to consider different NVMe options and a cheaper case. The one you’re looking at is nice, but you could definitely save some cash there. What NVMe are you considering? I noticed cheaper alternatives to the 2TB 990 EVO Plus, but I’d be cautious about those slower ones.
That’s a good idea! I'll look into it. What alternatives do you suggest?
Love that mindset! All advice is appreciated since I'm new to this. The $1600 build looks promising, too! I’ve heard the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is better for my multitasking needs than the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X. What’s your take on that?
