I'm building my first PC from scratch and I think I've covered all the compatibility bases, but I'm worried I might've overlooked something important, especially with the motherboard. Here's what I'm working with:
- Processor: Ryzen 9 9950x3D
- Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO 69 CFM
- Graphics Card: 5070 ti 16 GB MSI Ventus 3X OC
- RAM: DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 32 GB 5600 MHz (planning to upgrade to two sticks later)
- Motherboard: MSI PRO B850-P WIFI ATX AM5
- Power Supply: ADATA XPG CYBERCORE II 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX
Do you think I've made any mistakes or done anything wrong?

Your RAM might be a bit on the slow side. Are you starting with 1x32 GB or 2x16 GB? If you haven’t already, consider upgrading to a better kit with higher speeds like 6000 MT/s. The non-X3D cores really appreciate that boost!
The motherboard you picked is somewhat low-spec compared to your other components. Also, AM5 motherboards have a tendency to throttle RAM speeds when you use more than two sticks. I'd recommend looking for a kit with 2x32 or even 2x48 GB right now. Also, that cooler might struggle a bit under heavy load when the CPU naturally boosts. Plus, you didn’t mention a case, but almost all of them have room for AIO coolers. A Liquid Freezer 280 or 360 would be a great way to go!
Good point on the RAM and cooler! Just so you know, the Thermalright cooler actually performs surprisingly well against some AIOs and is quieter too.
What do you think makes this motherboard low-spec? I’m curious!
Totally agree! Getting a 6000 MT/s CL30 or CL28 kit would give your system a nice performance uptick.
