I'm on the lookout for a free alternative to Trello that can help manage internal tasks effectively. Specifically, I need a tool that allows me to create boards directly from emails and avoids creating duplicate boards when the email subject is the same. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

For something slightly different, consider LeanTime for managing internal projects. It's open-source and self-hosted, although it lacks the email-to-board feature right now. They’re actively developing it and they might add that feature soon! Just be cautious about GLPI; I’ve heard its security isn't the best.
Siit ITSM might be a good fit too! It offers a board view and supports email ticket creation. While it’s not free, they do have a budget-friendly plan. Just so you know, I work with them, so I might be a bit biased here!
If you're looking for a free and open-source solution, I recommend checking out GLPI. It supports email ticket creation and has been doing a solid job for me so far. Definitely worth a look!
Check out Teamcamp! It's light like Trello but offers a cleaner interface for managing tasks without the clutter.
If you're using Slack, it has a nifty feature to create lists or tasks based on emails sent to a channel. Just a heads up, this might only be available on their paid plans.
You can also integrate Kanban as an app within a Teams group or chat, which can be pretty useful for collaborative tasks!
Thanks for the heads up about the security issues with GLPI! I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
