Frustrated with Constant Internet Drops – Need Help!

I've been dealing with persistent internet dropouts for about 8 months now, and it's driving me crazy! My internet cuts out every 5 to 20 minutes for just a few seconds, impacting all my devices, whether wired or on WiFi. While I might not notice it during a stream, it disrupts my calls and online gaming frequently. I've had seven tech visits from Comcast Xfinity, and despite extensive troubleshooting on my end, nothing has improved. Here's everything I've tried so far:

- Replaced both my router and modem (twice, thanks to my ISP sending replacements).
- Changed out the ethernet cable.
- Used a USB adapter for my ethernet connection.
- Connected the modem to a UPS and a different power strip.
- Swapped out the coax cable.
- Installed a new in-wall connection line.
- Assigned reserved IPs to all devices.
- Played around with UPnP settings.
- Tested my Xfinity modem in Bridge mode with an ASUS router.
- Adjusted modem firewall settings at various security levels.
- Replaced wall plate and port for the coax connection.
- Followed a tech's advice to change every cable to the roadside.
- Removed all devices from the WiFi except for my PC for testing.
- Disabled power-saving features across devices.
- Flushed the DNS cache and reset the network.
- Reinstalled all my network drivers.

I'm not very tech-savvy and feel totally lost. Any suggestions on what else I could try would be hugely appreciated! The last tech indicated they'd exhausted all their options, so I'm seeking any new ideas.

Honestly, if your area has no other ISP options, that really puts you in a tough spot. But one thing you could consider is checking for any potential local interference that could be affecting your signal. Sometimes other electronics or even nearby networks can cause issues. If it’s possible, a WiFi analyzer app might help pinpoint any conflicting signals. Also, don’t forget to check your device settings for any firmware updates or options that might optimize your connection! Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look into that WiFi analyzer app. It's been super frustrating! Anything I can do to optimize my connection would be great.

I know how frustrating this can be! Since you've already replaced so much, you might want to consider contacting a higher-tier support level from your ISP. Sometimes, they have access to tools or procedures not available to regular techs. And have you checked if your ISP has any reported outages in your area during those times when your connection drops? It could be something beyond your control. Hang in there!

Great idea! I’ll look into reaching a higher support tier. I haven’t checked for outages lately, so I’ll do that too. Thanks!
