I recently had a really disappointing experience with the Apple Online Store and I'm shocked at how poorly it was handled. I ordered an iPhone 17 Pro and paid in full upfront, which is not a small purchase. I trusted Apple completely, but this has become one of the most stressful buying experiences I've ever faced.
I wasn't kept in the loop about my order status at all. The carrier returned my order to Apple without letting me know, even though I had provided my phone number for updates. It took over 15 days just to get an estimated delivery date, which ended up being missed. The decision to send my package back was made without my knowledge or consent, and I felt completely left in the dark the whole time. I urgently needed the phone, and not receiving it when I needed it caused a lot of frustration.
Now it seems like I have to go into a store to make the purchase, which I could have done 20 days ago without all this hassle, but now my money is stuck. I really want to know how I can get a refund quickly for this inconvenience. I'd appreciate any help with that!

I’ve heard of similar issues with several carriers and vendors. Now, I make sure all my big packages are sent to my workplace so someone can always receive them and I get them quicker.
Unfortunately, asking for compensation from Apple might not work out. Once you get your refund, you can simply buy the phone again in-store or from a retailer. It sounds like there’s likely more to your situation, as UPS generally only returns packages after multiple delivery attempts when they can’t reach you.
I recently visited an Apple Store to get my iPhone 12. Knew exactly what I wanted, but the whole process took two hours! It was all sign this, disclaimer for that… Honestly, unless my phone bursts into flames, I’m sticking with this one for good!
What carrier was handling your delivery, and did they give any specific reasons for returning it? That info might help clarify the situation.
I think you'll need to reach out to Apple Store support for help since no one can really assist you here. Check their support page for more detailed guidance.
I tried that, but they keep shifting the refund date every time I call them.

UPS was the carrier, and they said they couldn't reach me.
