Frustrating Random Restart Issues with My PC

I've been grappling with a really annoying issue where my PC just restarts on its own without any clear reason. Some days everything works perfectly, whether I'm gaming or browsing the internet. Other days, though, it won't even boot up properly before randomly shutting down and cycling through on and off until it finally allows me to use it. I've tried benchmarking all my components with OCCT, but while it can run fine for a while, at times it will turn off within seconds. My setup includes an i7 12700k, RTX 3080, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM on an Asus motherboard powered by a 1000W PSU. I've even reset everything to factory settings and ran memtest86 with no problems found. This issue happens at all times—gaming, just sitting at the desktop, or even while watching videos. Sometimes it can be stable for weeks, while other times, it can restart all day. I've tried different outlets and power cycling the PSU, which has helped at times. Temperatures are fine, not exceeding 70°C. I'm considering replacing parts starting with the PSU, then RAM, and finally the CPU if this doesn't resolve the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Quick question: does your PC only restart during use or does it also happen when it’s just starting from a cold boot? If it's happening during cold boots, it might strengthen the case for a PSU issue. Either way, I’d suggest that shop visit for testing.

That sounds super frustrating! I think swapping out the PSU might be a good first step. You've done a lot of diagnostics already, so tackling the hardware seems like the next logical move. If that doesn’t solve the issue, maybe consider the CPU too.

Taking it to a repair shop could be a smart move. They can test each component using a bench testing setup, and you won’t end up randomly replacing parts. Just let them know you want to test the hardware, and it shouldn't cost too much.

Have you checked for BIOS updates? I realized I hadn’t updated mine after a motherboard upgrade, and sometimes that can cause instability. It might be worth a shot! Let me know how that goes.
