Hey everyone,
I'm feeling pretty frustrated with Gigabyte's service centers in India and could really use some advice. Here's what happened:
I own a Gigabyte RX 6800 XT that I bought brand new, and after just five months of use, the screen went completely black while gaming. I rushed it to the Gigabyte service center in Chennai to get it serviced under warranty.
Here's where it got messy:
1. The Chennai service center accepted my card but didn't have a replacement on hand, so they sent it over to their Kochi center.
2. Kochi eventually sent me a replacement, but it was in awful condition—old, dirty, and clearly heavily used.
3. To top it off, the replacement card was faulty and didn't work at all.
4. I returned that card back to Chennai immediately, refusing to accept it as a replacement for my practically new GPU.
Now I'm left waiting again. I realize that some companies send refurbished cards for RMAs, but it's totally unacceptable to swap out my nearly new card with such a used and defective one. Shouldn't they be offering an upgrade to a better model like the 7800 XT if they don't have a working 6800 XT available?

I feel for you. It's frustrating when you expect a new product and get a used one. If you purchased it from a reliable site like Flipkart and truly got a new card, push for exactly what you're owed. Keep your receipts handy, and don't hesitate to escalate the issue to customer service higher-ups if necessary!
Honestly, if they don't have the 6800 XT in stock, the standard procedure is usually to send it back to AMD for a direct replacement. No guarantee that you’ll get an upgrade unless it's explicitly stated in the warranty. Just be patient and keep following up with them! Also, 6800 XTs aren't exactly new tech anymore, so I doubt they owe you an upgrade based on that alone.
