Getting Back into PC Gaming: Need Help with My Build

I'm returning to PC gaming after a long break since my previous computer died and I had to switch to consoles. Now I'm planning to build a new gaming PC myself and want it to last for at least five years with minimal upgrades. Here's the list of components I'm considering, and I would appreciate any feedback on whether these parts are suitable or if there are better options:

- GPU: Gigabyte 5070 Ti
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3X
- CPU Fan: Be Quiet Pure Rock Pro 3
- RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 2 x 32GB 6000MHz 30cl
- Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming X870-plus WiFi
- SSD: WD SN7100 SSD 4TB M.2 NVMe
- PSU: MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850W
- Case Fans: Be Quiet Pure Wings 3

I haven't picked out a case yet. I really dislike RGB lighting, and it seems like many cases come loaded with it. If you know of any cases that are nice without RGB, please share your recommendations. Lastly, if there's anything else I should consider getting, like thermal paste or extra cables, let me know. Thanks for the help!

If you're not a fan of RGB, I recommend checking out Fractal Design cases. The North model, for instance, has a stylish look with wood accents, and there are options in the Pop Air series that don't have RGB either. Just keep in mind if you do choose a case with RGB, you can usually turn it off or just not connect it. It's all about your preference!

Thanks, I totally forgot about that option!

If you're looking for specific cases, I suggest the Antec Flux Pro, Fractal Design North, or Define 7. The Lian Li Lancool 217 is also fantastic, as it includes good airflow and pre-installed fans. All of these are high-quality options without RGB bits.

Depending on the price of the 5070 Ti, it might be possible to fit in a 5080 by opting for a B650 motherboard instead. If you won't be overclocking, maybe save a bit on the CPU cooler as well. Also, look for cases that come with fans included to save some budget!

Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind when I'm shopping!

Your choices look promising if the budget allows! They should serve you well for five years. I'm a big fan of Fractal Designs for cases—they offer good airflow and great build features. I use the Fractal Meshify 2 XL, and the aesthetic is pretty understated. Have a look at their range!

Thanks for the recommendation! Those cases look cool!

Your setup generally looks good! However, I'd suggest looking at a B850 or B650 motherboard for better value. Also, maybe consider an AMD graphics card, as they can offer a good performance-to-price ratio. You might not need the X3D CPU right away, so something like the 7800X3D with 2TB storage might suffice, which also saves money. For cases, Fractal, BeQuiet, and Hyte have solid non-RGB options. Just remember, a lot of RGB is just from the fans, so you might not need to switch cases if they come with good airflow.

That sounds smart. I'll definitely think about an AMD card!

While 32GB of RAM is nice, it might be overkill depending on your gaming needs. Also, a single 4TB SSD could be risky if it fails. You might want to consider using two separate 2TB SSDs instead; it'll provide a safety net if one drive encounters issues. Overall, your specs look solid!

Great point! I was wondering if separating the drives was a good idea, so I'll definitely go with that. Thanks!
