Hey everyone! After a decade away from PC gaming, I'm really excited to dive back in, especially with Battlefield 6 on the horizon. It's one of my all-time favorites due to its epic battles and multiplayer fun! I'm aiming for smooth 1440p gaming on high settings but want to keep costs down. I'm okay with cutting corners on things like the case, motherboard, RAM, storage, power supply, and cooling system. I just want the best budget-friendly CPU and GPU combo. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

If you're looking for solid benchmarks, check out Techpowerup and Daniel Owen for GPU testing. For CPUs, Hardware Unboxed is reliable, and while PCGH has CPU tests, they may not be as thorough. Just do your homework and see what's available in your area!

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into those!

It really depends on your budget! Some of the top gaming GPUs can start at around £3,000, but you can definitely find something more reasonable. I don’t trust AI suggestions either, that's why I came here!

For a solid build at 1440p locked at 60 fps, consider the Ryzen 7500F (or 9600X) with the 9060XT 16GB—it gives a great price-to-performance ratio. Here's a build I recommend: **CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D**, **Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE**, and a **GPU: Palit Infinity 3 GeForce RTX 5070 12GB.** This all adds up to about £1,275.

This looks fantastic! Thanks for breaking it down!

I’ve got the 7800XT and the 5700X3D, and I’m getting about 95-110 fps on mostly max settings without FSR. The 9060XT is a bit less powerful but has access to FSR 4, which can boost performance. For budget options, a 7600X or 9600X might be good, but an 8-core like the 7700 or 9700X would perform even better across the board.

Awesome, that sounds like exactly what I'm looking for!

Make sure to get at least 16GB of VRAM for your GPU. Look for a CPU that won’t bottleneck your performance; I’d recommend going for at least 10 cores. If you’re into frame generation, you’ll want to aim for a 5000 series card.
