I recently tried to use my Google Chromecast, and when I turned it on, it went directly to a half-screen display of Apple TV without any sound. Pressing the home button only results in a black screen, and I can't access the volume controls. I've already re-paired my Google remote, but nothing seems to work. When I power on the TV, the half-screen doesn't show up. I'm hoping I'm just overlooking something simple here...

I did try another HDMI port and even tested the setup on a different TV. The Chromecast worked fine there! Could it be an issue with the older TV I'm using? I thought I was headed for a crisis and needing to buy a new TV, but that seems to have been avoided! Thanks for the help!
Crisis averted indeed! I ended up using Chromecast from another room, and it worked perfectly. I was starting to feel like my mother trying to figure this out. Now I can get back to my shows! Thanks for all the help, everyone!
Have you considered trying a different HDMI port on your TV? Sometimes that can solve these kinds of issues pretty easily.
