Hi all! I'm a 17-year-old high school senior and I've been taking college-level classes to earn my AA. I recently became interested in software engineering, but I have zero coding experience. I'm planning to take some computer classes starting this January and I want to get a head start on learning. What are the basics I should know? Any tips or resources would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading!

Check out Harvard's CS50 course on YouTube! It's a fantastic introduction to computer science and programming concepts. You'll get a great overview and it's fun!
Choose a programming language to start with and learn about the basics like variables and control structures. Begin with a simple "Hello World" program. Don’t hesitate to look things up if you’re stuck—that’s how we all learned! Remember, mastering software engineering is a journey, so be patient with yourself!
I started with Codecademy when I was around your age, and now I'm a senior software engineer. My biggest tip is to focus on understanding logic and principles behind coding, rather than just memorizing syntax. It takes time, but you'll get there! Good luck!
I definitely have time to learn, so thanks for sharing! Congrats on your success!

Thanks! I'll definitely check it out!
