Has anyone completed a Job Analysis Questionnaire before?

I recently received an email from HR about filling out a Job Analysis Questionnaire, which they said would help determine if we are being compensated fairly. I'm filling mine out tonight, and I'm concerned about whether there's a risk of them lowering my salary based on this. Right now, I'm at the section asking for my education level compared to the minimum they expect. I listed my role as an IT Support Specialist, suggesting a 2-year college degree as the minimum requirement. I have three associates degrees and seven years of experience, but I worry that not having a bachelor's degree might lead to my pay being reduced. I'm on call 24/7, managing systems like access control, cameras, and SQL reports, while other hardware is taken care of by an MSP. My current salary is $70K, but the whole thing gives me a dread feeling, especially since they made it seem like filling this out could lead to raises, but I'm not sure about that now.

I feel you! I've been through similar situations in my career. Those questionnaires often lead to slight increases or adjustments rather than cuts. There’s always a risk they might switch from hourly to salary, which could alter your overtime, but reducing pay is usually a last resort. Just be honest about your contributions, and it should bode well for you!

Yeah, I talked to some coworkers, and it sounds like not many are submitting theirs since it's optional. Maybe I’ll just skip it if it feels too risky.

It's understandable to feel anxious, but it's actually rare for them to decrease your pay unless you're seriously underqualified. Typically, these questionnaires are more about ensuring everyone is on the same page regarding responsibilities. If you’ve been keeping systems running efficiently, that's a good indication that your experience counts! Just ensure all your skills and contributions are noted; it's more likely they'll see you as deserving a raise rather than a pay cut.

Being on call 24/7 does sound tough, especially for $70K. Just remember to advocate for yourself. If you feel overwhelmed or undervalued, exploring other options might be wise. Your experience and commitment deserve recognition, and it's vital to weigh your well-being against the job perks you mentioned, like the pension.

I get calls only a few times a week, which helps, and I do appreciate the laid-back atmosphere. Just feels like I'm taking a leap with this questionnaire.
