I recently sent in my iPhone 14 Pro for a trade-in, thinking I'd get around $380 towards an iPhone 16 Pro. A few days later, I was shocked to receive an email saying my offer was dropped to just $100 because they claimed the camera was not functioning. However, my phone was in perfect condition when I sent it off! I ended up rejecting their offer, they returned my phone, and guess what? The camera works fine. Feeling misled and taken advantage of, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation? Did you file a dispute and were you successful? I know they use a third-party service to evaluate phones, but it seems like this has been a recurring issue for a lot of people. I even asked if I could trade it in person at the store, but they insisted on mailing it in.

Yeah, mail-in trade-ins can really be hit or miss. I've heard a ton of stories where people get less than expected or claims that their phone never arrived. That's why I always trade in at the store to avoid this kind of hassle. In-person evaluations are way more reliable!
I’ve done a few trade-ins and they worked out fine for me! One time, though, my wife mistakenly sent back an old phone we didn’t intend to trade in. They got confused but after I explained what happened, it all got sorted out and we got our trade-in money! Luckily didn't lose either phone.
I totally relate! I did my trade-in in person without any issues. Swapped my iPhone 12 for the 14 and they ran diagnostics on the spot. It was a smooth process, but I guess that’s the advantage of doing it face-to-face. Maybe it’s different depending on where you are?
Good to know it can be resolved! That gives me some hope.
