Has anyone successfully waived egress fees when migrating from AWS to GCP?

I'm in the process of helping a customer move their app and about 50TB of data from AWS to GCP. I came across an AWS blog saying that it's possible to get egress data transfer fees waived if you contact support. However, my customer's account rep seemed clueless about it, and they've been having a tough time with their support case. Has anyone here managed to do this? Is there another way to get support to recognize this request?

Have you shared the blog link with support? They can be a bit oblivious sometimes. Also, are you on a paid support plan? That could make a difference.

The support plan is pretty basic, maybe the lowest level of paid support or even free tier.

Definitely don't just rely on the blog post. Make sure to check out the FAQs since the details can be a bit tricky! From what you mentioned, it sounds like there might be some miscommunication about the conditions under which 'free DTO' applies. Dive into the FAQs and you'll find the specifics.
